JERSEY CONSTRUCTION COUNCIL ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

The Annual General Meeting of the Jersey Construction Council was held on Tuesday 6 November at St Paul’s Centre.

At the meeting the Minutes of the Previous AGM held on the 7th November 2006 were approved; the Chairman, Martin Holmes delivered his report for 2006 – 2007; the Chairman gave the Treasurer’s Report for 2007 – 2008 and the audited accounts for the year to 31st July 2007 were approved.

The Chairman outlined the JeCC Business Plan for the year 2007 – 2008 which included a recommendation that the subscription rates for the year 2007- 08 not be changed and this was approved by those present.

Elections to the Board of Directors were held with their being a vote for 3 positions within the Contractor Division. After those members of the Contractor Division present had held a ballot, Martin Holmes, Steve Jacobs and Fay De Gruchy were elected. A complete listing of Board members and the new committee structure can be found under the News section of the website entitled “Meet the Board”.

A presentation was given to those present by Steve Jewell and Steve Southern following significant work that has been undertaken to upgrade the website. It was proposed that a search engine be introduced so that all plumbers, carpenters, etc can be found by category and member’s details are then made available once a web page has been developed by MediaMasters. There are 3 levels of web pages available along with an opportunity to advertise on these pages and MediaMasters will contact members individually to establish which level of web page they may require. An increase of information/articles will be placed on the website on a regular basis with web links to various websites. Following the presentation these proposals were adopted as part of the Business Plan for the coming year.
