| Why should a Jersey construction firm
decide to become a JeCC Member?
First and foremost JeCC membership demonstrates to your potential Clients
that your company has the credentials, expertise and proper insurance
in place meeting generally accepted standards for the construction industry.
Over 90 construction firms in Jersey have already recognised the ability
to display the JeCC Logo on their letterheads gives them a Quality Hallmark
and is a symbol that will be recognised by the general public.
However there is an even more important reason. Politicians and States
Departments have very quickly recognised JeCC as the body to consult and
that we represent the Jersey construction industry as a whole. Individual
trade and professional associations encounter great difficulty getting
their members opinion taken into account as too often their opinion only
represented a small segment of the whole industry. We suffered from a
fragmented industry – but not any longer with JeCC. To be effective
there are many matters where it is better that the construction industry
speaks with one voice. With your support the JeCC will be that voice.
The objectives of the JeCC
• To raise the profile of the Jersey Construction Industry and act
as a collective voice for the Industry;
• To co-ordinate and promote action within the Industry with respect
to: recruitment; education, training and continuous professional development;
research; the raising of standards and the promotion of quality, efficiency
and productivity and the protection of consumers.
• The general public recognises Membership of the JeCC as a mark
of Quality, providing evidence Members have adequate Insurance and Expertise,
which will be checked annually. This will give potential customers of
JeCC Members immediate confidence in the firms they are dealing with,
plus the re-assurance of a Complaints Resolution procedure being developed
by the JeCC.
• The JeCC will work to promote appreciation of the major contribution
the Industry makes to the Island's economy and quality of life
• Additional benefits for Members will be developed through group
initiatives.
Existing JeCC Members have been recruited from all major Jersey Construction
Industry sectors, ranging from the largest Contractor, Consultant and
Supplier firms to sole traders such as electricians, plumbers, joiners
and floor layers. If you count yourself as a key part of the Jersey Construction
industry you cannot afford to not become a JeCC Member. The annual Members
subscription fee, graded by size of firm based on employee number, is
quite reasonable and easily afforded.
In relation to the Construction Awards JeCC Members can submit award
entries into as many categories as they wish – without any entry
fee. There is a £100 entry fee for all entries from non-members
to cover organisation & costs of holding the Awards. Other additional
Member benefits are being finalised and will shortly be announced to Members
in their secure section of this WEB site.
JeCC Membership is open to all firms, sole traders and individuals (in
the case of partnerships) operating within the Jersey construction industry
upon application and payment of the £25.00 application fee. Please
