League of Friends Completed

From proceeds raised at the 2010 Awards, the League of Friends project at the General Hospital has now been completed.

The new premises for the League of Friends remains on the ground floor of the Hospital but has been relocated to the area where the florist was located by the Parade entrance.  The shop and cafe are now combined premises and thanks to the new layout, room ahs also been created for much needed storage space within the Hospital.

Jersey Construction Council and Dandara create physiotherapy treatment room for Anthony Lewis

Jersey Construction Council and Dandara have recently completed the conversion of an outbuilding into a physiotherapy and rehabilitation room for Anthony Lewis.

Anthony suffered a stroke three years ago which left him unable to speak or use the right side of his body. He worked really hard at learning to walk again and managed to successfully complete the Jersey marathon last year over a 6 day period raising a considerable amount of money for the Stroke association.

We were able to create this fantastic space for Anthony from an old unusable shed in the garden of his home. A new roof was constructed and double doors were fitted at each end of the shed. New lighting and flooring were installed creating a light, airy and usable space which Anthony is able to use for his ongoing treatment.
